Escape to the Lake District for a focused two day driving weekend built around pure road enjoyment and spectacular scenery. Starting in Backbarrow, Cumbria, the tour dives straight into the heart of the Lakes, combining legendary mountain passes with sweeping valley roads and dramatic coastal stretches. After a night at the beautiful Abbey House Hotel with secure parking, great food and a relaxed group atmosphere, the adventure continues with a scenic run past Lake Windermere and out towards the wide open roads of the North Pennines, with an optional final extension through the stunning Forest of Bowland before the journey home.

Lake District Passes & Coastal Roads
We begin the weekend at the Lakeland Motor Museum in Backbarrow, where the group gathers for coffee, introductions and a relaxed start line briefing surrounded by one of the UK’s most interesting collections of historic cars and motorcycles. From here the tour heads straight into the heart of the Lake District, linking together some of the region’s most famous mountain passes with sweeping valley roads and dramatic Lakeland scenery. Expect tight technical climbs, unforgettable views and some of the most rewarding driving roads anywhere in the UK. After a full day behind the wheel we arrive at the beautiful Abbey House Hotel in Barrow-in-Furness, where secure parking, a relaxed check-in and a three course evening meal provide the perfect end to the first day.
Windermere, the Pennines & Beyond
Sunday begins with a full English breakfast before we set out for a final scenic run through the southern Lakes. The route sweeps past Lake Windermere before heading east towards the wide open roads of the North Pennines, offering fast flowing driving and big landscapes as the tour winds its way towards our final lunch stop. From here the official tour concludes, although those wishing to continue the adventure can join an optional extension through the beautiful Forest of Bowland, enjoying one last stretch of quiet countryside roads before joining the M6 for the journey home.
